IMPORTANT PATIENT INFORMATION - ONLINE CONSULT FORMS
We would like to remind our patients that Online Consult forms ARE NOT clinically assessed when the practice is closed - this includes weekends and public holidays.
We therefore ask our patients to seek appropriate medical assistance for any health concerns that cannot wait when the practice is closed by calling NHS 24 on 111.
IMPORTANT PATIENT INFORMATION - SHIELDING
Further to the First Minister’s announcement of 4th January 2021, the practice is receiving a high number of calls about shielding and attending work.
IF YOU WERE PREVIOUSLY TOLD TO SHIELD
If you were previously told to shield and received a letter last year from the Scottish Government, you will in the coming days receive a further update letter. This is known as a “Shielding Notification”.
The Chief Medical Officer advises any patients who are on the shielding list to work from home. If you cannot work from home, you should not go to work. Your shielding notification letter will act as a GP Fit Note for as long as lockdown is in place and can be shown to your employer. You do not need a separate fit note from your GP.
IF YOU HAVE AN UNDERLYING HEALTH CONDITION BUT HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD TO SHIELD
If you have an underlying health condition and have not been told to shield by the Scottish Government, please discuss this in the first instance with your employer. There is a lot employers can do to try and make the workplace safe for you. There is also guidance available on the Scottish Government website, please see the link below
The way we access urgent care has changed due to coronavirus. If you think you need A&E, but it's not life threatening, you can now call NHS 24 on 111, day or night or you can still contact your GP as normal, during the day.
If it's an emergency, you should continue to call 999 or go to your local A&E
We are understandably receiving a lot of enquiries from patients with regards to a COVID-19 vaccination and when patients may receive them.
The practice will continue to keep all patients updated as we receive further guidance from both the Scottish Government and NHS Fife. The practice is hopeful that COVID-19 vaccinations may commence towards the end of January 2021 / beginning of February 2021, to our patients who are aged 80 years and over. We will contact our patients as soon as we know more and thank all our patients for their understanding and patience.
